Veterans Affairs Hearing Aid Funding in Canada: Are You Due?

Oct 19, 2026

If you served, there's a good chance you have hearing aid funding available, and many veterans don't realise how often it renews.

What's covered, and how often

Veterans Affairs Canada covers replacement hearing aids every four years for eligible veterans. If you receive BC Income Assistance, your hearing aid coverage renews every three years. If it has been a while since your last pair, you may well be due for new ones, with the cost covered.

How to tell whether you're due

Think back to when you got your current hearing aids, and whether Veterans Affairs or Income Assistance paid for them. If it was four years ago or more for VAC, or three or more for Income Assistance, it's worth checking. Hearing aids also wear out over time, so if yours are whistling, cutting out or simply not helping the way they used to, that's another good reason to look into it.

What I take care of

I handle the Veterans Affairs and Income Assistance paperwork directly, so there's no guesswork on your end. The hearing test, the fitting and the follow-up all happen at your own kitchen table. There's no clinic and no waiting room, because I come to you, anywhere from West Kelowna and Kelowna to Peachland, Summerland and Penticton.
