Accuracy starts with a quiet environment. Before testing begins, I use a professional Sound Level Meter to ensure the ambient noise in your home meets the required legal and clinical standards for a valid diagnostic assessment.
To further guarantee precision, I utilize Foam Insert Earphones rather than traditional over-the-ear headphones. These provide superior acoustic isolation and significant background noise reduction, effectively creating a controlled testing environment right at your kitchen table. We don't guess—we ensure your test is clinically compliant
Video Otoscopy
Rather than me just looking into your ear and telling you 'you're fine,' we use a high-definition video camera so we can both see the health of your ear canal and eardrum. You'll see exactly what I see on the screen, allowing us to identify any wax build-up or physical issues together before we ever begin the test. It's about total clarity before we move forward.
Diagnostic Assessment — A Complete Hearing Test
We begin with pure-tone 'beeps' to establish your clinical baseline, but the real work happens with Speech Recognition Testing.
Most people can hear in a quiet living room; the challenge is the real world. We test your ability to understand speech in both quiet and simulated noise replicating the environment of a crowded restaurant, a church service, or a busy bingo hall. This allows us to determine your 'Speech Intelligence' and, more importantly, predict exactly how much success you will have with hearing aid technology before we ever begin
Results & Live Simulation
Once the testing is complete, we don't just hand you a graph. We sit down together to explain your results and your specific prescription.
Then comes the most important part: the Live Simulation. I place the technology on you right there at your table so you can experience the difference immediately. Using my screen, I show you the 'Visual Proof' exactly how the hearing aid is processing quiet sounds versus loud sounds. You get to hear the clarity for yourself before making any decisions about your next steps
Professional Fitting & Verification
Once you decide to move forward, we don’t leave anything to chance. If your specific solution is in stock, we can often perform the fitting immediately. If a custom order is required, I’ll return to your home within the week to complete the process.
During the fitting whether it's today or on a follow-up visit I perform Real-Ear Measurement (REM). This is the gold standard of clinical care. By using a medical-grade probe microphone, I scientifically verify that the sound is hitting your specific prescription targets. We move beyond guessing to ensure you have the exact clarity you need.
Hands-On Training & The 60-Day Trial
The fitting day concludes by making you the expert on your new technology. We won't finish until you are 100% comfortable with the 'How-To' of daily life:
The Essentials: Hands-on practice with your charger and cleaning your devices.
Staying Connected: Pairing your hearing aids to your smartphone and your TV streaming device.
The Trial Begins: This is the official start of your 60-day trial period.
